i finally had to jump in ...that is my biggest problem too.. how people enjoy this ..very scary to me.. that they do not have empathy...towards other living things.. that they could literly enjoy watching something suffer.. and instigate the practice like it is something the rest of us should just accept as ho-hum.. i was always taught that if you have no feelings and regard for all the creatures in the world then you are probably a very cold unfeeling person about all humans as well..we cannot change that nature is nature and that the fittest survive but we certainly can feel sorry for things and people more unfortunate.. you can feed your fish feeders and you can eat your beef.. but when it comes to purposely causing another to suffer for your unatural enjoyment is to me a whole different issue..and definitly should seek help because this is not a healthy prospective to live by..

Lizz, come on..there are freaks who get off on seeing people getting killed on video...what do they care about animals? That is , most regrettably, the world we live in....

And now how about some Mod kills, humanely ( which means with a nice turn of phrase as a thread parting gift ) this Thread???:)

I'm with you Miguel.

your right Miquel ..unfortunatly and it is so sad..

Oh, here is a thread to give my opinion on. As a "young" 25 year old I feel maybe I can help speak for the younger generation of us, and at the same time maybe all of us. I do NOT feed my fish other fish just because I enjoy watching them kill. The fact of the matter is that for me, I have to feed them other fish because one of my fish is a fahaka puffer. As anyone who has owned one knows, fahaka puffers do not eat anything besides live fish, snails, and crayfish. Do I like watching my puffer eat these other animals? Of course I do. I do not however feel it is a sickness on my part. I find it very interesting to watch nature at work and see how a true preditor fish works. He only kills what he wants to eat, unlike some agressive fish that will kill just to kill. It's also interesting to see what fish will lern how to survive with him. I've had gold fish survive in the tank with him for upwards of 4 months. So maybe the videos are a little overkill but I myself do consider sometimes video taping my puffer eating. It is pretty cool to watch a 6" puffer (still a baby) eat a 3" gold fish. He eats them head first, it's not like there is any suffering ;).

Think about it this way- now that a ton of little kiddies can watch that kind of stuff on the internet, they won't have to go through with getting their own aquariums and fish and killing them. I think the number of minds that videos satisfy outnumbers the number of minds that see it as inspiration for getting their own to recreate what they've already seen.

I guess ill just say I Love Watching a Feeder Killed, Its what they are bred for. The fish we keep probably would have been eaten in the wild, few fry live there. I realize its just not some peoples thing,But others really enjoy it. I guess what im saying is Dont Read What You Dont Like, and others who enjoy the topic can. The posts here are clearly labeled,I manage to read only what i want to and im not the sharpest tool in the shed LOL

i bet alot of things i own that if feeders wernt bought at the store they would die in the small over crouded tanks they keep them in any anyways. or even if they didnt killed in the wild, i try to keep feeding feeders to a min. like 2 large gold fish a month at max. but my needle nose fish eats about 2 a day, just the small ones, if i could get him to eat frozen beef heart, frozen krill. trust me i would, but i havent yet.

and when i go to youtube to see wolf fish n snakeheads, people say they dont like it, exactly they shouldnt of looked at it! if its calles snake head chomping innocent fish, haha dont watch it if u r going to flame the video! very good points "BadDogsPa"

i keep a piranha and cichlid, but i dont like live feeding. all my fish are fed on fish fillets (well the fish was killed at some point...but im not watching it happen.lol)

when i first kept piranhas i fed live a couple of times, but it's a waste of time, and can give your fish some nasty parasites and stuff if not properly quarantined.

AND.......................cut!

I don't think we can gain any more from this

Please refrain from beating the proverbial dead horse.
