Is this a jack dempsey?

My buddy picked up a fish almost identical to that about 2 months ago. We had a good idea what it was but it was in a tank with smaller jack dempsey and cons so we paid for a jack dempsey lol. Here it is today and its in its own 40 breeder because its mean as ....
Well.... Whatever it is keep it! Grow it out. Cause if it really is a JD/Texas cross it will look super awesome come maturity. One of my favorite hybrids. I personally see a bit of jd and texas. Probably more so texas though. Just keep us posted as it grows out with more pics please.
I had a jack x Texas hybrid at one time it was taller bodied. I got rid of it because it was taking bites out of my Oscars. Should have kept it but I thought it wais ugly anyways.
Couldn't edit my post with the pic above but here's the same fish a little smaller abusing some jacks.
I can't tell you what it is, but I can tell you what it isn't. And that fish is NOT a Pure 100 percent Jack Dempsey. Its just not. So now lets wait and see what it turns out to be.
