^more like cant argue with a person who's arrogance is unbelievable. You're wrong about everything you've said so get over it. Cant believe someone would think the amazon has no temperature swing lol.Awesome setup to the OP can't wait to see pics.

Really? Large rivers such as the Amazon have temperature swings? Are you sure?

Mate, go get an atlas (or use google maps) and have a look at where the Amazon river is compared to the habitats of Jag, JD, convict etc being discussed in this thread. The "Amazon" is an equatorial climate and part of an enormous land mass. Nicaragua is a small isthmus of land (that could fit in the mouth of the Amazon river) over 1000kms north of the equator. Slightly different in temperature/climate perhaps?

And as the OP mentioned, most of the species he is considering have already established populations in local waterways. If they were really incapable of surviving in such a climate that would not have happened.

Add lots of driftwood and rock caves. You should be fine. Convicts live in nature with dovii so I'm pretty sure the jag would just do some population control. You could also try adding some catfish to help do population control too

So do you mean to say you never do water changes. Unless the water from your tap happens to be 25 degrees (which is unlikely here in UK lol) then it is likely that your temperature will fluctuate a bit. I can see where you are coming from with the feeder fish issue but are you aware of how much convicts breed? It would be unfair for the OP to have to limit himself to small fish due to his infestation of baby convicts. Still, if that's your opinion then that's your opinion, your a vegetarian I'm guessing?

The lack of knowledge really astounds me on this forum!

Thus far, all you've offered is criticism and bashing other nationalities. You might consider changing to providing some actual information. Otherwise, you're posting will only be considered as trolling and spamming.

BTW, the temperature of the amazon can range from the normal 80s to the 70s in the winter and down to the 50s due to the friagem (south-polar front intrusion). Rains during these cold spells have a definite >2F influence on the water temps in all areas of the river within these cold fronts.
