Is this QT tank size sufficient

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah I love Clowns myself . I have 4 in with my Africans. They've been in there with no problems for 10 years. My water is probably on the lower side for hardness and pH than most people who keep Africans. PH tends to be 7.8 with KH at 7 and GH at 10. Don't think the clowns would like it too much harder or alkaline than that.
The PH coming out of the tab is 7.6. For a while I stopped buffing my WC and my fish just didn’t seem well and flash a lot. I think my KH out of the tab is closed to 0 and my ph swings a lot. I started buffing again and keeps it at 8.2 consistently but have to keep doing it every WC. Guess CL is out of the question for me than. I saw some hybrid Syno, I think it’s Angelicus with Eupterus. I wonder if anyone had experience with it.

Yeah with a KH of zero definitely have to buffer. I haven't seen that hybrid. The true Angelicus is pretty rare. I remember seeing a full grown one in a store years ago for $180. The Eupterus are very common. Multipunctatus would go well obviously. Any thought to a few Dwarf Giraffe Catfish? I love Giraffe Cats but they get huge.

Cool looking cat, looks like it does get big. Maybe I will get a pleco or something. I really like the look of Starlight BN Ancistrus DOLICHOPTERUS.

I believe the Dwarf Giraffe cats only get up to 8 inches. That BN is definitely cool too.

Really? I must read on the wrong specie. I read 2.5 - 3 feet. 8 inch is not bad. I will check again.

Yeah that the regular Giraffe Cat. The Dwarf is Notoglanidium macrostoma.

Just read up on it, you are right. I like the look but it says likes to hide. I kind of want something that’s out and playing like CL. I have a Rapheal cat, never see it until light off.

That’s why I love the CL, alway out swimming and playing. Also loved its personality and when it sleeps up sided down.

Need some advise here. This morning I noticed the Exo has some fin damage, and I think it’s either the Venustus or the Bucco. I think a 55 is too small for these guys. The Exo is no eating but still swimming around fine. The other 4 are eating.

Also, my Christyi in my DT is still not eating well. This is after I treat the tank with Metro, Epsom salt for 3 rounds already. All the other fish are eating well and no white poop.

It does eat but very little and I have not see any poop from it yet.

What do you think I should do here?

1. Keep them in QT for the duration of 4 weeks.
2. Keep them in QT for few more days to make sure they look good and move the Bucco and Venustus to the DT?
3. Move the 4 into the main tank and keep the Exo in QT?
4. Same as 3 but also move the Christyi from DT to QT, so end up wit these two in QT.

Thanks

Looking back at the photo I took yesterday after I received the fish, the damage might have been there before I received the fish.
I am not seeing any aggression so far.
