Is this tank Worth $500??????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Chompers covered the glass really well. basicly glass dosn't age and/or become more brittle with time. Silicone thats under water is not in danger of drying out and can also be good almost indefinatly. Very high levels of uv light (direct sunlight) or mechanical damage is the only real danger with silicone. In other words a non covered dry tank that's been sitting out in the sun for a few mounths should always be resealed but if the seals are still plyable and the edges dont pull away from the glass when you push on the thickest part of the seal then it's as good now as it was when it was made.

P.S. occasionally you run into a tank with the bottom seals damaged from large fish moving the substrate around. This is another case where it's a good idea to reseal the tank.

I had a tank leak after 2 weeks of buying it new and if you look at ny gallery my front tank is 9 years old no problems at all.I say gooood deal if its not leaking go for it.

well i e-mailed her and i told her all i could pay for it is $200 because the tank is too old plus that is all i could pay for a tank that could break/crack in the near future.

i hope she accepts it and i think i will pay her an extra $50 to deliver it if she sells it to me and if sher can deliver it.

any comments?? was this a good move??? i think she will sell it to me for that because they are trying to get out of the hobby and they were just going to store in the basement, and i'm the only one that knows that they are selling it and I'm the only one who has given them an offer.

thanks

Not really no...The only thing I'd worry about on that set up besides the fact that I wont use a sump system is the condition of the return pump. I've baught several used tanks on line and in two cases had to break the tank down and then handle the moving myself along with fish I didn't really want. To be honest with you this woman would be a fool to go for what your asking. besides not bieng enough money for a perfectly good tank...(the might leak or crack argument is weak at best) She has to break it down and then be responsable for the delivering the tank to you. Would her name happen to be Mrs. Clause by the way?

well ill see her response!!!!!! the last thing i said in the e-mail was.........

"If $200 is not enough, than tell me what is the lowest you are willing to go?"

so i hope that helped the situation a bit???

i only said 200 because my dad told me to(im 15 BTW) ..... but i think i should have said at least $250 to $300.

I dont know if this has been covered but 4 male fronts in a 150 is a bad idea.

no chance to breed with a 99% chance to fight. Because of that alone I would pay bottom dollar.

Rally's keeping us on our toes...I hadn't concidered that angle...however if the Fronts are nice ones you could always sell them to get a part of your money back.

i got pics of the tank and the frontosas and they look preety good (the fronts)!!! I cant get my pics from Adobe shop to Photo bucket though sorry.

The dominant male had a huge hump. i will not sell them though if the agression is not too bad.

but do you think there is a chance she will say yes??? ill pick up the tank if i have to.

why are u asking us? just be patient and see what she says. I'm sure u can work out some type of deal with it.
