It wont be long now!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am not going to comment at all on the society or geographic region where this took place, as my opinion would most definitely cause issue.

Thanks for posting the link to that.

I can not believe that that man actually let his little child have that gun after he so casually fired it. It is of little wonder to me that the little one fired it as well, for children never fail to imitate what they see their parents do. They may often fail to listen, yet, they never fail to imitate.

Very real. Happened in Syria a few years ago. It was father/son. Guy died at the scene. Moron.

And you can tell how real it is...Notice how the recoil of the gun knocks the kid out cold

Yeah, the problem is a few people with bad judgement or just not enough brains do things that put a taint on all gun owners/enthusiasts. Kind of like the idiots releasing their snakeheads into local waterways makes all MFKers look bad.

Here's an even sadder story that happened here in the USA a couple years back:

To the op

AT LEAST YOUR LITTLE ONE WILL BE READY FOR THE ZOMBIE APOC :)

So what kind of weapons do you have. I was wondering.

Before you generalize...I'd bet that the US has a much higher rate of killing - intentional or accidental - via firearms than Syria...

My comment was not aimed at this specific country, rather that geographic area of the world encompassing more than one single country.

It would be very hard pressed to get true stats on rate of killing due to the uncontrolled nature of said region. Said region being the many countries of the middle east.

I am pretty sure that if someone actually discharged a firearm in such a casual manner at a wedding in the U.S. they would be very quickly relieved of their sidearm and face charges for a few things.

Is this a for real vid?

I can not believe that someone else did not quote this.

If this is real :WHOA:, I can not believe that that 2-4 year old had a loaded firearm.

Personally I have no issue with the op picture of his daughter holding the dead gun.

While I have no firearms in my house, I have actually shown my kids some defense techniques which will enable them to defend themselves against anyone who would try o abduct them or do them harm with violence in the form of bullying.

I also have no issue with the op having weapons at the ready in his house, more than one at that too.

Weapons are like insurance. Makes people really wish they had it when the time comes to put it to action.

I would have to say in this day and age where violent crime is rampant, the defence of ones family must be a priority. I prefer that my family knows that I am at the ready and it only takes a flick of the switch and any perp best be prepared for what is coming.

I try to make sure that my kids have an idea how to turn everyday objects into weapons of various sorts should the need ever arise. As well, that they have the rudiments of using the ultimate weapon themselves.

I do agree with red that military does make a man. I really think that everyone should do at least a 6 month intensive basic training course. I think it would totally change the dynamic of our society as a whole. Yet that opens up a cup of worms for many people.

I really hope the thing I quoted was not the real deal.

Not that vid is not real

I knew it was real the first time I watched it, simply from the way it plays out and the way the target takes the shot to the way the recoil hits the kid to the way the muzzle flash and how the gun moves.

Yet, I hoped it was the real deal for so many reasons, yet, I had to ask. For there is always a hope that in this age of internet that something is not for real.

I got my answer by someone posting up the live footage of it and connection to news articles were easy to find from there.

Lots of information about rates of gun ownership, death rates, etc. for Syria (and other countries) - and extremely well referenced: http://www.gunpolicy.org/firearms/region/syria

In Syria, annual homicides by any means total

2006: 2395
2005: 206
2004: 2126
2003: 189

CompareRate of Homicide (any method)

In Syria, the annual rate of homicide by any means per 100,000 population is

2006: 1.235
2005: 1.09
2004: 1.206
2003: 1.04

Quite a bit lower than the US.

So Matt

WHAT PART OF GEOGRAPHIC REGION OF THE WORLD DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND.

I would hope you would take time to read posts before you go off half cocked trying to slam your point.

I can assure you that taking north american and comparing it to that region of the world that the stats would not be lower.

Now the ? for you is this how many of the homicide in us are a direct result of law abiding citizenry who were acting in self defense? How many are a result of violent offender commiting crimes on innocents.
