I tried reading IT, The Stand, and others and I have never been a big fan of Stephen King. I honestly think his best work is the stuff that most people don't realize he has done such as Shawshank Redemption, Green Mile, and Hearts in Atlantis, all of which are non-horror movies.

Kind of agree with this. I read the sequel to the shining wssnt bad but i was like wtf...way out there.
Check out the dark tower series you would never know it was written by king. Non horror
It seems the movie is going to be a sequel to the book instead of a direct adaptation of the book.
