I've done it

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I took some pictures as promised.

Don't look to the confusion or to the quality of the photos, because it was a weekend of hard work in my GreenHouse :D.

A photo of the general tank.

Even today, before leaving, I saw them eating. They are well and I am increasingly convinced that this setup works very well.

looks good.... keep me posted...

why have you sold one, Alberto? And how about some pix from your new ones?

I've sold it because i've promised to someone, some time ago, that i will find a good ray to him. And now I'm searching for a Marble female ;)

My new rays are doing fine and i've put all the pics in this thread http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=152639 for not opening another one. Time to time i'm going to update it.

What an interesting thread!
Never heard about anybody using only plants for oxygen and have to be honest, at first I was sceptical.
However reading through the whole thread and seeing full pictures I can imagine that it works very well, and have to say respect for standing out from the norm for something you believe may work just as well/better. Its lovely to see rays in such a natural setup. Well Done!!

Just a thought though, my rays have always *Seemed* to enjoy swimming into the fast current provided by a pump and *playing* in bubbles from airstones etc..
Do you think they might have enjoyed some flowing water?

Anyway good job, keep up the good work! (:

At home I’ve an aqua that has 8 rays. Some like the flow, others don’t care. It depends, but it’s a fact that they like to “play”. In this big tank they don’t have that, but they have a lot of fish and snails to “play” with – feeders .

I intend to put my big Motoro male in there and I continue to believe that in this setup it’s possible to maintain 3 adult Motoro or other species as big as this.
