Jack Dempsey destroyed Oscar over night

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
just had a similar experience saturday. i have a 3 inch red devil and a 3 inch jd and for some reason they are like partners in crime lol, i figured an oscar of the same size could defend hiself in there. boy was i wrong. i went out for a few hours and when i come home he was in really bad shape. he ended up dying like 30 minutes after i got back. is that normal for a rd and a jd to act like that? their behavior with eachother i mean?

OK how about some tiger barbs? No but of course you guys are probably going to say that it's too small, Plus the Oscar died so stop craping yourselves because it's starting to piss me off.

Ow, geez we don't want to make you mad. I mean you jumped on a forum and posted a thread asking for help, everyone took time out of their day to help you, and you don't even listen, and look, you end up with a dead fish which is completely 100% your fault.:screwy: I bet you didn't even learn from this and with probably go out and buy a red devil, and then post a thread saying, red devil went gangsta on jack dempsey.:banhim:

Yes, a red devil is way to aggressive for a jack, let alone an Oscar. i personally only house my red devil with a pair of salvinis in my 125g, and the salvinis are getting move soon. Soon the Rd will turn on the jack, unless you have a large tank, but it still isn't guaranteed.

This kid is getting pissed off? I don't understand how you ask for advice, get advice, it's not what you wanted to hear and get pissed off at every body. If every reply says somthings wrong, just maybe somthings wrong. Everybody makes mistakes but at least be willing to learn from them.

yes.. snowflake eels need saltwater. Some people call freshwater moray eels snowflake eels but they are two very different species. Perhaps he bought a freshwater moray and the LFS had it listed as a snowflake eel.

Freshwater moray eels need salt also. You can keep them in brackish early on but eventually develop into need almost full marine conditions.
