Jack Dempsy pair in a 75?

I dont think I would have anything but the two dempseys my self. I actually feel like a 75 is to small but I know allot of people who will say its plenty big enough. I currently have a male JD thats 9" in a 6 foot 150 gallon tank with 1 carpintis male also about 9" and 1 jag male thats about 8". The JD rules these guys in the 150 and bullies them. I used to have two more jags in the 150 with them. The one jag I took out is my male that was 9.5" and another 6.5" jag and the JD kept them all in line in that 150. Watching the JD, carpintis and jag in a 150 I feel like the JD should be in the 150 alone cause he has claimed the whole tank and he doesnt even have a female with him. If he had a female I have no doubt they would probably have killed the jag and carpintis by now. My big male jag and the 6.5" jag now live in a 300 gallon tank.

How big are your Jack's? Ik that can be real slow growers so a 75g should be fine for 2 if under 8in. I just wouldn't trust em around another fish tho if they are paired up and ready to breed. Any bigger the 8in tho I would say a 75g is too small.

My JD is 9” and a year old. Do you consider that a slow grower? I have always read they were slow growers but I dont think 9” at a year is slow. Maybe thats not typical growth for JD’s I dont know.

Lol ik I had female at 4in and she only grew 2 extra inches within 2 years. Same with my male I had at 6in, he only got to 8in within 2 years. The biggest one I had was a 12in male that I bought from his previous owner, he was pushing close to 11 years old by the time he passed away. Most JD's I've seen tend to grow only 1-2in a year, yours sounds like it might have a slight growth mutation. Nothing wrong with that, that just means yours has the possibility of being a true monster of a JD.
