cich not sure of what you are bringing up here. I have WC , Nicaraguan, male, honduras female.
they both display velvet black on gold or bronze back ground. I do not use lighting for my fish as, well thats for us not them, these are are there natural day light colors.

Nice jag...imo your jag is the realm of whats considerd a very nice specimen of a normal colored jag.... jags vary in their base color being whiteish,, goldish, copperish, purpleish which in turn can depend on their mood and the lighting they are under...the true gold jags are gold with no spots or have darker gold(no black)spots on the light gold body.....just my opinion from looking at a zillion pics of jags lol......
Is it weird that I just got excited you called Jimmy a "Very nice specimen"?
 
The pic I posted was actually under a crap old tank light, I put him under an LED and he's even prettier! I'll have to get a new pic tomorrow! He freaking sparkles! I love this fish...

No one can deny that you have a nice looking jag....some jags look great regardless of the lighting....but an already good one looks even better...looking for to seeing the next pics of yours!....

And pops your jags look great .....more colorful than average in natural light....
