Many people would debate if a 150 gal tank is big enough for a solo male jag I think it's about border line. I think its definitely to small for a jag to be housed with anything else.
For now... but what size should I get the jag if the polleni is 5inch

I would get 6 at around the 3 to 4 inch mark, that way you can chose the best, also adding a solo fish to a tank with an established cichlid in can be problematic. What is you eventual stocking plan for the 265 gal, two male cichlids never work.

I had to redo my 150gallon. I change the whole decor/ replace gravel for sand and adding large drftwood.. Right now my 150gallon is cycling and I have the the 5inch polleni in another tank. I plan on getting along with the polleni: Oscar, jag, GT, jack Dempsey for my 150gallon then in a couple a month's switch to 265gallon..
