Jaguar Kills Denver Zoo Keeper!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'd rather spend my time productively.

What a shame. Most zookeepers are there for their love of animals more than anything. Although zoos may not be the ideal solution in your opinion there is no doubt that many have generated money and time into conservation of species, and more importantly a study of the animals themselves, which needs to be done before conservation takes place. Regardless of what anyone thinks, it was a very unfortunate incident. Also a massive shame the cat had to be shot, and also a shame that it is the way that human preservation comes first, but not a lot can be done about it (even though these are potential risks I would imagine you would no about, and would therefore just do everything in your power to minimize those risks).

It's always good to here about captive breeding efforts on the site down to the pets we keep. It's the way forward and more people should think about it.

I still can't believe she actually entered a cage with the jaguar. What was that about? If I was doing something for "so long" I would never make a mistake like that. Heck - I've never worked at a zoo (never will) and I would never do that. It's like swimming with sharks - taking a risk. A deadly risk, that is.

Who cares about the jaguar. An innocent woman was killed. I can't help but feel bad for her family.

I feel that she "got herself" killed, she entered the cage with the jaguar... That's the part I just don't get.

I'd mount the Jaguar. (and not in a sexual way......thats sick ... its dead.)

Well obviously you don;t care, for one!
:)
The jaguar was just being jaguar and also was innocent.....of course it is sad for the woman's family, but there is no shortage of women or zookeepers on this planet, that I am aware of anyway.
The loss of the cat is hugely more significant.

Not if you knew her or were part of her family. Both are sad, but I think to put the situation into terms like this is ridiculous IMO. Significancy is all relative in this situation each one was more significant depending on which way you are looking at it.

exactly from whichever side you look at it. If looked upon from her mothers standpoint? I lost my daughter and this is probably the saddest most impacting day of my life.
