What i have said is my own personal view. I do not see religion as a "bad" thing for most people. If you can get guidance or can better yourself through a religion then thats great. If you can become a better person by following the words of a bible or any other religious scripts, all the power to you.
Religion is a major cause of war and violence, ableit they are religious extremists, the cause is for their god. What god demands millions of people die (mostly innocent) because they follow a different faith?
Repair, i have read the bible and many other religious books, have you?. I was raised catholic. You cant put me down because i dont need religion as guidance to be a wholesome, kind hearted person. I am no better than you, or anyone else of any other religion. But i dont condemn anyone because of their beliefs and certainly dont "damn people to hell" who dont agree with my beliefs. Hypothetically if you were born as a muslim in say afganistan, you would belive mulsim religion much like you belive your own. Does that make you right? Only believing what you are used to or familiar with, and denying everyhting else is narrowminded and ignorant. While i do not necessarily belive in a god, i do not doubt there is one or more. I belive majority of religions were founded as a "guide" to conform people to a certain lifestyle.
And one again yes, the bible is hatefilled sexist jibberish who commands millions upon millions of innocent people be slain in your gods name. It does not say to peacefully seperate *** people, it says to slay them, it says to slay disobedient wives and children. it repeatedly says to slay the generations of innocent people to pay for the sins of one family member.
And if you sin, you get repentance. which is an im sorry, and its all ok. go sin some more and come back for confession and youll be ok. So basically, if you join my gang (religion) and break a rule, god will forgive you, but if your not in our gang you should be stoned to death, not because they arent good people, but because they arent in the same gang (religion) as us.
Like i said, if someone came to you today with 2 rocks with laws written on them, and he claimed them to be gods laws, would you believe him?
If you were raised in a small tribe in africa, lived your whole life as a good, giving human being, would you still go to hell cuz you arent catholic? But you wouldnt know anything about catholic religion because you werent exposed to it. And the bible says anyone who doesnt believe in him is bound for eternal damnation. IMO your god sounds alot like hitler.
