Those tanks are absolutely amazing! They are beautiful.

Why did you decide to let such a beautiful fish go?

Wanted to see him go to a colony to breed/enjoy himself, plus he was stressing my leucosticta. He's now been rehomed in a tank with a larger footprint with 8 other slightly smaller Geophagus altifrons "Tocantins".

Ah okay. Well then, I guess that is good. I don't recall seeing this "Tocantins" morph here in the States anywhere recently. We have G. altifrons of course, but not the one that you had.

That was a much deserved win for fish of the month. I would love to be able to take a picture even half that clear.

I would suggest some more apistogrammas, not borrelli macmasteri or cacatuoides: something not manmade or common, like paucisquamis and sp. abacaxi.
