im done here

your just agruing for the sake of arguing.

That is because you have not came up with hard evidence showing jardini's will reach 3 feet.

we have proof of them at around 30 inches, but not 3 feet.

Actually Del I feel that's exactly what you're doing, and what you do most of the time.

With proper care and a decent size tank you can expect a jardini to reach about 2 foot in captivity.

Your quote of 3 foot is one out of thin air, find me one photo of a 3 footer in captivity, or one person on this site or any other who even claims to have a 3 foot jardini.

They don't get 3 foot del, it's as simple as that, thus you're giving people wrong information telling them they'll reach 3 foot.

The problem is tank size is such a heated debate. Peoples emotions are affected, just like religion.

Del Loves fish, and he tries his very hardest to get other to respect them as much as he does, that is very honorable and respectable. But sometimes this brings him to areas he shouldnt go.

I would like to say, that given the above information, if you have a 4x2 tank, that will work, for a while. but I dont reocmend keeping a 20+ inch fish, in a tank that is only 2 feet wide and 4 feet long.

I would aim for a 300 gallon for an adult jardini. Jardinis cannot turn like a silver arowana, so their flexibility should be accomidated for via a larger tank.

I agree, they are far less feathery than a silver. I had a jardini and it seemed like it used the space of maybe 3/4 of his body length to turn. Silvers are another matter, my 15 inch silvers looks like it only needs 6 inches or so to turn. Very graceful.

I am an animal lover Neil, I've been keeping fish since I was a kid, in addition to a few reptiles, mammals etc. I love fish.

So yes it's admirable that del cares about and respects fish, believes they should get the housing they deserve etc, but seriously just don't talk ****. Jardinis don't get 3 foot in a tank.

Del's heart is in the right place but he was much cooler a year ago than he is now. He seems to have cultivated a fairly arrogant, condescending and authoritative persona since then. I think it was caused by 1 of 2 things or maybe both. 1 - he admires your apparent wisdom and confidence especially for someone in the same sort of age bracket as him. 2 - a lot of noobs started to see him as an expert fish god, fooled by his authoritative tone, voted him as a mod etc.

LOL.

I am seeing this aswell. He is going down the same road as I was. And I can attest and say based on experience, that its not a good road, its an ineffcient road. There are many ways to get your opinion and point across without being engulfed in narcissism.
