Just out of curiousity..is that a sand substrate? If I'm not mistaken, aro's don't really fair too well in a sand substrate..due to that the fine particles can irritate or harm their gills and overall health.

my arse

i have sand in my tank

and sand is jsut about the only substrate in south american (sand australian) river where these fish come from.

My arowana wasnt eating today and my guess was that he was full. Since arowanas tend to starve them selfs after they have eaten too much.

I only feed him a meal worm in the moring, and about 3-4 crickets at night each day. And once in awhile a feeder guppy.

Then, checked up on him before i head to bed and i see abunch of dead shreaded mealworms and a ball of stuff that looks like crickets and guppies put togeather. Now, i didnt feed him anything or had left over food today so it must of came from him.

Is this normal?!

after looking over this

im starting to take those guppy into consideration

Could it be?

Im so scared of feeders because of that, where i will never feed my arowana a gold fish.

And picked guppys and white clouds.
But before i feed them, they are quarantine with melafix for about 3 days pior to feeding.

you medicate them before feeding??????

not very smart

that like eating meds!

though i cannot come to the conclusion that medicated fish is hwat did him in.

Wow...that sucks.

But heres the weird thing.

He never ate a guppy or a white cloud yet while i had him.

Only feed him crickets and mealworms to get him used to looking up for food to prevent drop eye. And when i got him the guppys, was when he became sick and never got a chance to eat all of them but one.

its almost impossible to tell you what did him in. you may never know and drawing conclusions based on others speculations is not a good idea.

so lets just move on and leave it at that.....

Sorry bout the Jar...
You said something about the Ammonia came up due to the regurgitation episode...Try to get a good set of perameter readings and post them please...how long has this tank been up and running...

Whats your problem boy?

SORRY I ain't no fudgepacker like you, so keep your arse to yourself and relax with your stupid "my arse" remark. :screwy:

If you disagree with what I said...just state it.

As I have posted.."if I'm not mistaken..." I have no problem of being wrong, but if you think I'm going to take a rude comment from some half baked kid you're wrong.

Also, the environment in the wild isn't the same as the environment in an confined space such as a tank.

When you have some more life experience...then talk smack...k' kid?

Hey Prophet.. you have a silver and a jardini together?

Yeah I did..that was over 15 years ago that picture in my avatar. In the process of getting a jardini I obtained into a 125g...possibly with a silver.
