In Texas you have to have "backflow testing' on your sprinkler system, it tests to make sure you are not putting excess water in the wastewater system. Basically code enforcement checks to see if water is running down your driveway, or curb and into the drains on a regular basis.

You may want to divert that water into the yard,I am sure Cali would have similar, if not more strict guidelines.

Nice Jose. I will look into setting this up at my new place. How long does the chloramine filter last before it needs some kind of changing.

If I remember correctly--
At the 5,000 gallon interval, you perform the following;
1. Rinse new carbon (I didn't do this)
2. Remove first chamber and set to the side
3. Remove second chamber and install it in the first slot
4. Replace carbon in "second" filter that is set aside
5. Install filter into first slot.
6. Turn system back on.

Now, what I do:
Occasionally check the output of the filter for chlorine/chloramine. If it tests for either;
1. Remove both filters
2. Change carbon in both
3. Install both filters and go.

They should last a bit longer when changing all of the carbon as apposed to some. I have had mine running for almost a year before changing. But this is solely dependent on water volume that you are changing.

Looks good J!

Looks great, you have definitely inspired me (and a lot of others) to get off my butt and install my DIY drip system. :D

thanks guys. i'm hoping this cuts my maintenance down to almost nothing on the 400g!!!

It does. Been using similar systems for years. Fish health is great. Losses are greatly reduced as well as wet carpets. Good job.
