If that doesn't fix it, swap it over to the other side. But nice idea!

a bit of an update...when i got home today i noticed the emitters werent flowing what they were yesterday, so i figured they must have clogged with some sediment or debris coming out of the chloramine filter.

so i installed an inline Y filter used for drip irrigation systems. its made to keep sediment from clogging your drippers. best of all, it can be taken apart and cleaned. all for $10 :)

Not a bad idea to keep things in check. Did you run water through the filter for 15 minutes before putting it in the system? Most filters I've seen say to do this to get all of the loose materials in the filter out. I'm curious because I'm doing this on the next tank I buy and I'm using this setup here as my template. I've never really been into the 24/7 water changers but this setup is so easy and clean looking I'm going to give it a try. How do the nitrates look? Have they come down a all?

yeah i ran for about 2 minutes, i probably should have let it run more though. im gonna give the system about a week or two before i test nitrates again, just to be sure its working :)

Awsome thread . Good pics too . I have just finished making my first diy overflow . I next plan to install the fitration and constant feed of fresh water .

I would like to ask if you find that heating the water in the garage becomes a issue with a constant cold water drip . Or do you find it really is not much of an issue and heaters keep up with it . I have 1000 litres for now . But will be adding anothe 700 litres soon as a sump and then removing the canisters hopefully

very nice setup, but strangely i enjoy changing the water of my tank LOL

Ha, I do to...well, did up until I accumulated 5 tanks and need to change out around 400g worth of water every week. I spend the better part of my Saturday changing water. I'm ready to give that up.

I think I may start my project this weekend.

well its been running for a few days and the temps have remained steady, only dropping about 1-2 degress. so its not an issue for me :)

This is good stuuf J... I have been thinking of doing this but to cheap to spend on all the equipment... looking at your set up, its change.

Q... with that filter you installed from the "Filterguyz", does this eliminate the need condition the water ie;"Prime"?

thanks man. yup, that filter takes care of treating the water! its removes chlorine and chloramine, which is the sole reason we add Prime :)
