I say JD, I have a small pair the male is 5'' and the female about 4'' they are very beautiful fish, I think they are one of the most vibrant FW fish you can get.

i have both, my jack is so personal, swims up to the top of the tank just like an oscar, and he tries biting me if i don't get the food in the water fast enough. mine has beautiful colors when he wants to show them. My green terror is only 3.5" but not very personal but beautiful colors. My jack seem to be slow growing at 5", but he won't eat pellets so that could be his problem. I love my jack......so go with a jack and you won't be depressed once he warms up to you. Mine wasn't even scared of me after he got sucked/swam up my python tube.

I thaught bout devils too. I might get one but I think if i get a red devil I want to keep it in something larger. I wanted to get something that stays around 10in because I want the fish to have plenty of room no matter what size tank I get.

ya red devil/midas get rather large, thats a really tough decision.
