Nice rifle. How well does the dust cover scope mount hold zero?

I will probably though a laminate Romy stock set with the PG lower fore grip on it. If I find a deal on a Romy wire folder I will snag on too. I sold my last wire folder for $25 a couple years ago...not they are selling for $85.

Ehh...it's ok I guess. I just threw on the red dot one day for the hell of it. I honestly haven't shot this gun in a couple years. I guess that means I should take it out one of these weekends when it's nice.

You cant just swap them out. You will need to replace the rear trunion all together.

This would probably be the last of what I currently own that I would sell,eventhough I bought it very cheaply more than ten years ago.It is my favorite rifle,untill I luck up on an AR15

Want a wire stock and PG hand guard? PM me and I'll send it over... I have extras that just sit around and take up space. No screws for the stock but you should be able to find them pretty easy...

Take it out and use it! I picked up both for a little under $600. The AKM came with two mags. Not bad considering Im seeing SAR-1s being sold for that much now! Also the factory Remington LEO top folders are values around $100-150. The wingmaster is a '79 and in pretty good shape. A few idiot marks but not enough for me to justify this gun as a beater either. The finish on the SAR-1 is the best Ive ever seen on a Rommy gun and Ive seen alot, that still isnt saying much though!

They were cheap ten years ago! Can you post pics? Some of the Egyptian rifles are about as close as you can get to a true Russian AKM. Also check to see who imported them. Many were imported by a company here in my town of Louisville, KY.

I will look into the importer info.The manufacturer is called Maadi.what do you think of the folder being added,is it a difficult process to remove the trunion?I will try to get pics,it even has that same canvas type sling that you have.

You will have to cut the rivets that hold the current rear trunion and replace it and re-rivet with a trunion designed for the under folder. Also you have to modify the receiver (drill a hole through it). Its not worth it and it will totally destroy any collectable value of the rifle. Please post pics!

Given current EBR and AK prices that was a steal... Some of those Crappy Century Yugo M-70 AB-2 are going in the Thousands right now.. and fricking canted site BS Wsar-10's are even up in the 600 range. To get a SAR with an essentially free LE model top folder shotgun is pretty darn good dude... If I was in the market for a SAR right now I would be pretty thrilled to get it for less that 1000.

I just spent some time browsing gunbroker.com and dayum prices are crazy! I saw some selling and SOLD in the $700-800 range. I remember when these were like $250 brand new!

Im kicking my self for selling my SAR-1 with the complete Romy laminate PH lower HG stock set, RUSSIAN plum stock set, about ten mags and one Romanian 75rnd DRUM mag and an SAR-3 with 5 weiger mags, 5 properly converted EG -74 mags w/ US 5.56 followers and belarus scope mount for just $700! You may know the guy I sold that stuff to. He is at all the gun shows selling all kinds of comm-bloc AKM parts.

With todays prices that is easily $3k worth of stuff. The farking EG 74 mags are HIGH now and I saw some drums with asking prices of $500!!
