Not stupid. You could do it. I've got enough already. No need to go buy a filter.
I have a bunch of poret foam laying around was thinking i could cut it to fit just to keep stuff out of the impeller
Yeah sure thats what i said wrap it around the strainer lol
(j/k wtapping it around makes much more sense)
Somewhere I posted that my jebao I had stopped working and I could get it going again but it would stop again. Well I ended up finding a impeller for $10 awhile ago not knowing what was wrong and decided to mess with the pump due to setting up another tank to my supprise after seeing most have issues with the adaptor mine was the impeller there is a clear plastic piece that has cracked cuased the impeller to not allways turn. I have own some more reputable pumps that have failed so really cant complain about this pump at all.
My biggest problem is not keeping back up pumps and heaters could really get me in trouble but when I think of doing it seems like I always rather buy a fish or something.
