Just curious...How junked up are the $10,000 H1's from the army? I LOVE H1's. My uncle would always get one from the dealer he works at for our birthdays and what not. They are amazing machines. My dad and him actually managed to ALMOST get it stuck once.... hahahaha.

I'm not sure, I'd have to talk to my uncle. He works as a supply officer at a Barracks near me. Probably beat to hell though, you'd want to do a complete overhaul anyways. Some have no doors or cloth doors. Much of the money the government pays for H1's is actually the radio equimpment in them, which of course is all removed from these vehicles. The metal seating is a joke too. Still, you could put one of these back together with civilan H1 parts for much cheaper than a new civilan model.
 
Hmmm well I don't think that would be what I would want to do. But anyways...I have driven the 5.7 hemi...impressive it is not. Its fast no doubt but idk if its what your looking for. They aren't much for off road. And anyways chrysler makes their trucks cheap and they make them as road trucks not really anything that can get off road too well. You have to do alot of work.

Right - keep going back to the good old Jeeps.
 
get a diesel!! will spank a jeep. And can tow 5 of them on the trailer. Plus lifts are cheap if you get a dodge or ford. Not chevy! (ifs)..
 
I do not hear good things about Fords or Dodges, I'm afraid.... But this guy wants an OFF ROAD vehicle... That alone screams JEEPPPPP, da? :)
 
my sis hase an h3 and moms got comander,both never off the road,ive got a mazda 2 wheel drive 4 banger that goes on trails all the time,go figure,should start barowing moms ride.her milage is awfull,and for the dodge,i had a 99 dakota with 32s,k&n,flowmaster,throtle body spacer and got like 11 mpgs,it only had the 318.

I'd LOVE to hear your (or your mom/sis) compare the H3 and the Commander.
 
they dont know squat about cars but ill try,i wont see them till this weekend,the problem i see is they dont drive eachothers but il pick their brains a bit,if you dont hear from me on it this weekend,just pm me,i get prety busy,might forget.i have to say if your tall,dont ride in the back seat of the comander,the seats are high,im 6 foot 2 and im lookin at the roof and the hood,dam that thing gets on it though.sis is like a 5 cyl i think.
