You just show that you're more intelligent than the vast majority of other people and being able to separate the two doesn't make someone young rather it makes them intelligent and wise. I agree with the vast majority of your points thus far, too.
Agreed.I to was scratching my head at the post that ballin just had to respond to and I'm anxiously waiting for the next reply.

I will put this out there first, no I haven't kept up with all the reports and allegations. This is a personal point of view. With that being said, the one major factor to this is, the nature of the crime. It brings out an emotion in people for how reprehensible we find it. So people tend to want to jump to conclusions of guilt or innocence before all the facts are out. I hold my final judgement until then.
But, if the allegations are factual and Joe Paterno actually knew that Sandusky was raping and molesting children, whether since 1998 or 2002, and didn't push it past just telling his bosses and police, he had a moral abligation to take it to the next level. Whether that be FBI, Attorney General or media, whomever. He should have insisted. In that instance then he should be libel, even if it is as an accessory after the fact. This goes for any who knew and didn't. Period He may not be held libel legally but they will crush him and Penn State civilly.
Could any of you let a pedophile who lived down the street continuously molest the children on your block or neighborhood and not do everything in your power to see that he is caught? Could you live with yourself? I know I would not let it happen.
I know I would insist that Sandusky be investigated/arrested whether I lost my job, pension, whatever. The innocent come first, whether it be children or adults.

My biggest problem after everything is in the open, the rats that come out who just want a piece of the money from civil litigation who were never harmed. And there always is those.......

Again, I hold my judgement until all the facts are out. At least the facts that the media or law will allow us as citizens to see.

some of you guys still are not getting it. joe pa OBVIOUSLY covered up events to keep his reputation and that of HIS program clean. did anyone else notice he sold his house to his wife for $1. hes either a tax cheat or hes hiding assets against civil litigation.bythe way he did this last summer ,he knew what was comming down the tracks and was covering his behind. once again I WILL SAY ,HE IS NOT AVICTIM IN ANY WAY ,OR AFALL GUY

I don't think they ever will! One of them posted something that was deleted and has no idea why it was and a whole bunch of them chorused in unison that there was nothing wrong with it. What a bunch of mental heavy weights! They obviously have broken moral compasses and still insist on the very narrow and slim letter of the law. A law which will soon be nationalized with greater more specific reporting requirements. I'm done here. No more point in "just horsing around' with this bunch.

Enjoy your party guys and have fun turning over more news vans.

Your talking about me and my post had nothing wrong. You need a big vase of chill the heck out dude. Do us all a favor and read carefully plz. Ty. Its quite obvious you have no clue what ur talking about and ur repeated insults are down right starting to piss me off.

I'm not seeing a problem with him not doing more than he did. If the police choose not to act on something the second time that they're told about it despite having gotten a confession of guilt from the abuser a few years prior, then what more can you do? They certainly ignored the issue once; what's going to (and did) stop them from ignoring it again? You can only tell someone something so many times before they just ignore what you're saying.

That's "liable" by the way; "libel" is defamation by anything other than spoken word (written/printed words, pictures, etc.).

My biggest problem after everything is in the open, the rats that come out who just want a piece of the money from civil litigation who were never harmed. And there always is those.......

Very true. I imagine that's why some of the people involved in the scandal have gotten lawyers despite having done nothing wrong legally (as far as we know).

Again, I hold my judgement until all the facts are out. At least the facts that the media or law will allow us as citizens to see.

That's why I'm sticking to my "innocent until proven guilty" stance here rather than the "guilty until proven" innocent stance that tends to be preferred by the media and some private citizens.

Fine by me; I'm sure that many others will agree. Broken moral compasses, eh? What happened to "innocent until proven guilty" and other items of (un)common sense?

It's completely ridiculous to punish anyone on a moral basis alone; it's this little thing called "discrimination." If someone thinks it's fine to tell their superior about a child being sexually abused, reports the incident to the police, and said abuser loses access to the place where the abuse occurred, then they have done all that they can legally do. A face-to-face confrontation of the abuser could easily turn violent or at least come back on the person who meant well. If the police drop the ball, then you really can't do much that will not end up screwing yourself over thereby making any and all evidence and statements that you present to the police inadmissible and useless in a court of law.

Hey do you guys think that the OSU scandal will just fade away now?

I knew it, this was all a plot by OSU to distract from their scandal! :D

i'm not sure if my moral compass is broken or not but i don't think it's against the law to have bad moral

if it is, we should arrest you for continously insulting strangers online, that's bad moral

Well this article (Paid to Prey) definitely brings up some interesting points such as people involved in the charity that Sandusky founded knew about him sexually abusing children yet still allowed him to get a $57,000 "consulting fee" from 2000-2008 (which could explain his disappearance from college football in order to get closer to kids). Heck, the CEO of the charity (who is a child psychologist, of all professions) was notified of the 2002 incident yet didn't do anything to remove Sandusky from the charity.
