Just brought home an ~10" ID Shark

That sucks dude. Check around the tank if hes hiding. I have a 8 incher and I got him a friend, but it was one from Petsmart so he was really tiny, maybe about 2 inches. He immediately sank to the bottom and floated dead for the first few hours. If i stuck my hand in to check him, he would swim away and then go limp. He just plays possum. He is now about 4 inches is usually glued to the big ones side. If hes not near him then he goes into hiding. I have an albino also in our Discus tank growing out till he can join the big boys. hes only about 1/12 inches. Congrats on a cool fish anyhow 
He's def not in there. I don't think the bigger ID did it because he was hungry if he was the one who did it. He's fed a lot and has fatten up a lot since I got him. I'd guess it was my endi's if I had to chose. Anythings possible though. I want another one, but he'll have to be at least 7-9" if not larger for me to do it again. I have a tsn in my 75 gallon that Id like to put in there but he's just too small right now. After the albino I def won't put the tsn in yet.
My ID use to get a fat lip from banging into the glass. He is in plastic pond now, no more bruises. I always use salt whenever my ID's get anything. Do a water change, add salt 1 TBS per 5 gal and raise the temp just a bit. I have had my big one (30") for over 17 years and salt has cured many cases of ick, cuts from fights, and any fin damage. Please make sure you tank is wide. They need room to turn. I feed algae pellets and massivore, every other day. They all hand feed, even the TSN who charges the top of the water when its his turn.
