That is possible. There were no lights on in the tank and it was fairly dark in the room. I know for a fact that it's a motor/henlei hybrid. He is getting darker, so only time will tell. Will have to see what happens.

No offense, but I honestly think yours is just a pure Motoro. Just because its getting dark, doesn't mean it's a Henlei. They also have black Motoro's in case you didn't know. Look at the pattern of the one I quoted above and look at yours, big difference. Can we see a tail shot of your Ray?

I can get a picture of the tail tonight when I get home. I'm worried about it, if its not as I got a great price on this ray. No one would believe it. The mother(motoro) Father (Henlei) were the only rays in the tank. The guy I brought him from didn't even know the mother was pregnant and on oct 1st the little guy was swimming around. Hopefully he continues to get darker and starts showing his henlei side. Like I've said I know for a fact he's part henlei.

The one picture of the ray hiding in the sand you can see the tail a little bit. Is that enough?

Does a motoro/henlei hyrid have to have a differen't tail then a motoro?

You would look for more of a spot pattern on the tail and extra rows of spines

I honestly can't tell the tail from that picture. If you look at the picture torres posted, you can definitely tell that it has a Henlei tail. If the pup is only 2 months old, time will tell, I'm sure you are right. I was just saying that I do not see any henlei characteristics on him.

I completely agree with you, however I do know the ray is darker then he looks in the picture. I also know the father was a henlei.

Thats what I would think. But just because its not I wouldn't think would automatically mean its not.
