Looks like you have sand as substrate. Just give it a few hours and it will go away.

:iagree: i was gonna say the same thing about the sand. sand does that when you first put it in. as everyone else has said, a few hours will do it.

Throw some smaller fish that you could care less that could die in there and continue with what you are doing.
Nice. :(
As simple and painless as Fishless Cycling is, it never fails to amaze me how anyone would choose such a barbaric method.

I am still cloudy today on day 5... I am not sure that it is going to go away until I have my first water change.

And it has become more simple with lesser chance for failure, yet...

1) Set up tank and add de-chlorinated water
2) Turn on filtration and set heater to desired temp
3) When water reaches desired temp, ADD livestock of choice...
and
4) Add SeaChem "STABILITY" per instructions, for the next 8 days
FTW
...how much easier than that could it be?

I hope that my Stability starts working soon. I have about a dozen minnows in right now, 3 darters, and 3 crayfish. Still my ammonia is zero, my nitrite is zero, and my nitrate is zero. My PH is still holding at 7.8.

I just fed my minnows flaked food though today, so maybe I will get some bio going.

This is my 5th day with stability.

How many days have you dosed with STABILITY and fish in the tank?

I have dosed it since this past Saturday with Stability and this is my third day with fish.

I added more minnows yesterday.

Then I would say you are on your 3rd day of dosing, and have 5 more to go...
Without anything for the spores to colonize for, they are just in solution still...
Since the day that you had bio-load, (fish added) this is the first day of the 8 day STABILITY cycle... ~Ben

Ok, I will continue dosing and doing what I am doing.

On Marineland's website I found this about new aquariums and my milky water.

"Q. My aquarium water is milky white. What do I do?
Milky white water can indicate the presence of heterotrophic bacteria. This condition usually occurs in a new aquarium setup. These bacteria will not harm your fish and can be eliminated with a 25% water change and a gravel vacuuming. Cloudiness should disappear within a couple of weeks."
