i have great exp. with cichlids, silvers, datnoids, and alot of others. page 1 has pics, il try for some more.

I tend to group fish on their needs. I dont keep many fish that are run of the mill. Silvers, cichilds, dats... mostly very tough fish. Pretty forgiving. This african is your step up to the next lvl. Do it right, be successfull.

This is a very special needs fish. Maybe you can pull it off. But you must be diligent for awhile. I feel that about 4 months of dedication are in order. After that you may be able to back off a bit.

Feed him many small meals all day long. Leave some of the food on the bottom to let him "graze". Keep the water stable. When he hits 6-7" you can probably drop feedings to 3x a day. At 10" I dropped mine to 2x a day. When he hit 15" I began feeding him once a day.

Again, good luck. These are one of the most interesting fish out there. May not be considered by most to be attractive, but tons of personality, very active, and a super unique look make this one of the best fish out there.

Thanks,
Chris

ok, il do my best.

Feed well, keep up water quality.

dude, dont be a freakin asshat about it. african aros are the most sensitive aro to man kind. they do not eat, they filter feed. they do not take mouth fulls, they take scraps n garbage. 9 out of 10 african aros die after 8 days.
