dude, dont be a freakin asshat about it. african aros are the most sensitive aro to man kind. they do not eat, they filter feed. they do not take mouth fulls, they take scraps n garbage. 9 out of 10 african aros die after 8 days.

Exactly.. not trying to be a downer but as BOTR said before odds are against you. There are very experianced keepers who have these die on them.

Never said you lied about the aro. I just wouldn't buy another one right now til you see how this one does. African arow is a fish that can look like it's doing great one day and be dead the next(when young)

i feed it like 6 to 11 times a day (consistantly).

well its because i feed him not to big or rasions, what should the feeding scedule be?

dude... she's gorgeous... and i do agree they look like baby gigas... anyway juz a li'l info on tis li'l fella... over in Africa where they are fished... the species are considered a delicacy 2 the native folks... LoL... cheers and congrats on uR new monster...

DO alittle more research. You CANNOT keep 2 of these guys together. They will do fine untill they are juvie's, then the fighting will begin. One will end up dead from the constant stress of the fighting.

As far as feeding is concerned.... I would actualy reccomend 5-6 feedings per day. Leave the scraps from the feedings in the tank untill the end of the day, then remove. After you remove the days left-overs, feed again. In the morning remove the nights left-overs. Then begin the days feeding schedule. This is what I did for mine.

7am - Clear the bottom of left-over foods. Then feed.
10am - Feed
1pm - Feed
4pm - Feed
7pm - Clear the bottom of left-over foods. Then feed.

I did this untill I felt he had the fat reserves to last longer between meals.

Seriously, do some research. Spend some time reading about these guys. All of the answers will not be in this thread. It became clear when you were considering buying another that you had done no research other than what you have read in this thread.

Vanimate,

Hows the African doing? That was to date the most difficult fish for me to let go. You better not kill it! lol
