JUST HAD TO SHARE THIS "DIY"

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
OK, I get it. As long as you keep the substrate from getting into the intake and disperse the hole correctly, it should work just fine.

nice dyi did you notice a more sparkling clean tank after this new tubing??? post some updates soon

OK update.

So, instead of using 3/4 tubes, I used a 1/2 size. I got a reducer elbow going down as seen. Instead of running the pipe all the way across the tank, I decided to stop it in the middle.

I put another HOB whisper on the other side ( right ) making the flow even. Out put of the AC110 on the left, suction in the middle, and the other whisper output on the right. So great flow for sure!

The holes that i drilled were only on the top side, the front facing side, and one hole on the front cap, nothing on the back. The suction is perfect, and the minnows don't get stuck or sucked up to get chopped by the deadly AC100 propeller. The out flow on the AC110 stayed the same , fast and strong, so the holes drilled were perfect.

I am pleased and satisfied on what me and buddy did. And thanks for your support and interest on this simple DIY of mine.

Next DIY is a stand and sump for a 100GL! cant wait.

yes i did! I tested it. I kinda moved around the substrate to get all the pee and poo moving around,..... and gone, sucked up in 20 min. Clear as a mug.

I am also running carbon. That may contribute to the sparkling clean water.

"pee and poo" do fish pee? and do they drink water? ( pee and poo water? )

looks good

Cool DIY job :headbang2 Glad you shared it :woot:

By the way, what size were the holes that you drilled in the pipe at the suction end?

Good thinkin, looks great
