All I'm going to say is, if its illegal, keep it illegal. (like tigers, etc, not like anoles in some states *roll eyes.*
As for the rest of snappers, and venomous reptiles and large niles... if you're knowledgeable and careful and experienced, go ahead, as long as they don't harm anyone.
 
personally, I prefer the more dangerous, larger animals but I invest a lot of time in them and I would never get anything that I could not handle or care for properly and safely. For the most part, I agree with the way that FL is set up regarding these animals. Permits for anything big and/ or dangerous. I do not like however that FL has banned the ownership (even by zoos and colleges) of pirannah and electric catfish and anything from the osteoglossum family (spare the silver aro).
