yeah thanks thats what I have been doing. So the tank is almost up to temp now. What will be the best way to do the tranfer? ie...tranfering the filters from the 90 to the 265? Should I take the filters off of the 90 and set them up on the 265 and tranfer all the fish over or should I do it slowly? Will my water perameters be ok by just cwitching the filters to the new tank? Im also going to add some prime to the water just to help with any ammonia spikes.

If you're using the same filters with the same stock, it won't be a problem to the cycle. I've done this about ten times now, simply take the filters and put them on the new tank (if you're using a brand new filter, you can take the biomedia of the old filter and put it into the new one; if you're using a brand new filter WITH the old filters, just put both filters on the new tank, you don't need to move biomedia around). Connect the filters and get them running (after you've conditioned the water, of course, otherwise the chlorine/chloramine will kill your bacteria). Then just plop the fish into their new home.

Yes Ill be bringing all the filters straight from the 90 to the 265. I dont ever use contitioner on my water, because its a well and theres no chlorine! But other then that just add the filters to the 265 and thats it?

Damn, wish I could have a tank this big...I've been checking craiglist and kijiji for a tank around this size in Ontario but haven't seen any even close in price...

Congrats!

The whole point of using black sand and black backing is to get your fish as dark as can be so their colors pop out. Leave them on white sand and they look gray and dead and you can't see their blue and red as well.
