You're not likely to damage your BB with any size water change unless you let the biomedia dry out or you add chlorinated water.

ive done 70% many times before never lost a fish from a water change

same , I do 70 on my 20 gallon setups weekly and 2 - 50% on all the bigger setups.

No man they are paper thin you can remove all the water and they will stay alive from the gravel moisture on their side. Thats why they were bred that way
