Just brought it home. About 6". ate one live freshwater shrimp and 6 small crickets within the first hour! Not shy, will come right up to the tank.
Story on fish: wild caught. Collected together with other fish (somewhere in or next door to India ) where it wasn't expected to be. LFS has sold one before, direct to japan. Over 1 ft, their cost was 1700USD. Since I know people will ask, dealt this fish at 1500 (10% discount). That's all the details available.

Shallow water 2ft tank or deep 3ft tank?
Rate of growth?
16C~mid-20C? (will need to get a cooler for the summer)
water current?
Hiding places (make it a cave)?
Preferred lighting?

Right now he's in a small tank for time being. Will make a large one later.
