Update: Growing good, and eating good! Keeping up with the daily water changes has made them super hyper and good feeders. They are deffinently putting on size. I will try to get some pics up tomorrow! My pacu is also growing quick, went from 3-4.5" in the time from Vtines day till now.

Dude feed them feeders 2 times a day. Trust me they will grow quick. Mine are eating shiners now. Good luck
ive got mine on prawns stuffed with massivore! and the grab it out of my hand. they dobled in size once i got them on that pretty quick

When do they gain their coloration? I see avatar pictures with 5 and 6 inchers with beautiful greens and solid blacks. Mine is about 4" and still very bland. His black markings are noticeable but there are no other colors.
