Keyholes

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Keyholes!! Love em. I have a trio in my 125 SA tank. Two of them are about 2" and the other one a tad Smaller. Smart little fish. Funny when I first bought them I was almost 100% certain my eel would feast on them. Surprisingly one of my keyholes actually lives in a little crevice next to my eels cave ha. They don't grow very fast. And mine eat very well. Over fed if anything

There's actually a pair of these guys, about 2", in the tank at my LFS that are spawning. They have the back corner to themselves and the rest of the keyholes are confined to the remainder of the tank. It's a small tank, maybe 20 gallons. Probably 8 keyholes total. I was tempted to grab them all.
lol grab the pair that spawned bro !!

Yah bro they are really full of character and smart lol I thought my chocolate or true parrots would eat them or try bc of their big mouths but no surprisingly they hold there own they avoid everyone and just do their own thing. I feed mine very well but I don't mind if they grow slow as long as they keep up with everyone else

You guys are more than welcome to post some pics of your keyholes I'd love to see them :) I'll post updates here

Picture one is of Keyhole A and Keyhole B.

Interesting names yea?? Named by the order they were purchased.

Picture two is of Keyhole A hiding and Keyhole C grazing on algae. For some reason Keyhole C has two black spots. Don't know if that means anything.

Picture three is Keyhole B. Biggest of the trio.

Wanted to get a group shot but probably not gonna happen today. My red sev loves getting photographed.

Lucky. I've only seen them here once and that was because I requested them.
If they hadn't arrived two months late I'd have a group of them instead of my convict and barbs.

I hate that feeling. Wishing you went for something else after your purchase is already swimming and living life
