Actually what happened was he was using his own money to build the building and tank and it was going over budget and he realized he was going to have to postpone the completion and he mentioned that on his channel and that is when his fans begged him to let them help and he finally relented and put up the go fund me page and raised the money in 2 days and shut it down.
I personally don't mind that he did this because if you watch the videos around the time that he did this you can tell he really struggled with the decision of whether or not to do the go fund me. Also I really do enjoy his videos and with the gallery they have gotten better and he says the whole point of the gallery is to educate those in the hobby on possibilities.
