Good to hear your in somewhat good spirits about it.

I crashed a bike last year doin about 90 mph. Broke my elbow completely off to where my forearm was completely disconnected from my upper arm. Ended up having some titanium installed along with a soft cast for 4 weeks. I'll never forget the day the cast was removed. I was scared to death to move it! It took about a week for me to move it a smidge but as the weeks passed I was able to move it more and more. Worst part for me is I'm a carpenter and that was my swinging arm.

Situations like this can get VERY depressing as well. We're all here for ya man! Keep that chin up and keep trying to move it as much as you can bear.

Thought I would give a quick update. I just went for my first physical therapy session for my knee. When I got there they immediately looked at my knee, asked me a couple of questions, then told me that they could not give me therapy yet. They said that at this point it would be worthless to try and could possibly do harm to it. They also said that they had never seen a leg bruised up like that from a lateral release, especially almost two weeks after the surgery. They couldn't believe it is still swollen as badly as it is either. They also kept feeling how hot it was for some reason.

I knew it wasn't good when the therapists kept calling for other therapists go come in and take a look at how bad it was. I'm supposed to call them back in a few days and let them know if there are any improvements.
call your doctor and tell him what happened....

I've got an appointment to see him tomorrow morning. If I am not satisfied with my visit I plan on contacting my primary care physician for an appointment so she can refer to me to another doctor for a second opinion.

I went to the doctor for my appointment today. Apparently the appointment person wrote me down for lab work instead of seeing the doctor. I waited there for about 45 minutes before I was told that I did not have an appointment. My guess is that it was written down incorrectly and then they gave my appointment to someone else. I was told that they could not fit me in and that the first available appointment was the third week of May. I could see the Physicians Assistant if I wanted though.

I told them that I did not want to see anyone but my doctor. They are supposed to have her call me this evening. I imagine that once she calls me I will get in pretty quickly. I went to high school with her and she has always treated me pretty well.

Regardless, as of right now I am not overly happy but no need to get excited or upset I guess. It was actually pretty painful going to the doctor, setting in the waiting room, and driving home. I'm back on the couch with my nurse now so all is well. :)

I had this same procedure plus a repaired meniscus back on February on my other knee. It was not nearly as bad as this one has been.

Damn dude... didn't realize you had this done, :banhim:

To young for that kinda stuff, But that is the result of feeling invinsable when your 18, I have the pains to prove it as well, LOTS of them :(

Hope you get back to some level of normal soon, I mean thats what the surgery is for.. not to feel worse :(
