Know When To Stop

I bought a siphon that has a little ball on the tube that creates a suction by squeezing. It is quite frankly the best idea ever because I was not looking forward to priming it the old fashioned way.
 
another option to prime a hose or gravel vac. you could run it under a faucet then just put your finger on the discharge end.
 
I did the same thing last month...tried to pull on the hose...then out came the damn feces...smh..couldnt taste better...ughhhh...jadebullet i think ill get the one your talking about i saw that in one of my lfs....
 
When I used to have my 3 red eared sliders I had to vacuum one day as the tank was very dirty so I went to vacuum and im sucking and nothings coming out so I quickly jerk the vacuum with the tub still in my mouth as I didnt think it would immediately shoot out, but it did. I got a mouth full and I mean complete mouth full of dirty turtle poop and nasty smelling and even worse tasting water. I was so diguisted I immediately put the whole vacuum in the water and ran to my bathroom where I was gagging for about 15 minutes and then I brushed my teeth about 5 times and gargled half a bottle of listerine. I can still remember the gross taste.
 
Get a friend to do it for you and then have a great laugh after they drank enough water for the day :ROFL:
I did it some years ago while i had a brackish setup with mud skippers and a tide setup so on low tide i really had to suck hard to get the water running and i got all the gooood stuff from the bottom i my mouth :drool:
