Large Rock

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How about something like those solid white hard plastic cutting boards to set it on?

I wouldn't think egg crate would distribute the weight all that well as easily as it bends.

I am guessing really anything that is solid and thin that way you can cover it up easily, if I am wrong someone please say something.

eggcrate works fine.

this is my 75gallon, the rock on the left is about 80lbs

Wheres the easiest place to get some eggcrates?

Nice. Does he need to place the eggcrate under the tank? or in the tank? Hope that thing doesnt turn blue on u. Many of my rock when left out for a day turn blue and cant seen to get it off after long soakings.

He needs to place it in the tank so the rock isn't resting on the bottom glass.

Thanks for all the info everyone. I doubt this rock is going to turn color, I found it laying next to the road.

Only problem with a flat surface like a cutting board or large tile is the possibitiy or anaerobic activity, but in a large, well functioning tank should not be of much concern.

Side of the road huh? Nice find, has character.

Don't forget pics after the install, you can't just tease us!

Hopefully I have find these eggrcates at my local lumber yard or at Walmart cause home Depot is nowhere near to me.

Thats actually where I have found all my rocks and driftwood so far, but I do live on an Island, so some pretty awesome driftwood washes up pretty often. Oh yeah I will be posting pics, just got the tank on the stand and now in a day or two put water in. I also have to post pics of my Drip system as well.
