  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i would go with geos my self i recently stocked 3 with two blood parrots and a jewel and they squable umungst themselve but dont really bother with their tank mates

x2

I housed a firemouth in a 90 with an angel and a few rams. It worked till the Firemouth hit the 4" mark, then it went downhill fast. My Firemouth was so aggressive that I couldn't house him in my 300 because he was such a horrible fish. They have a rep for being mildly aggressive, but my experience is totally different.....

pretty fish, but not a good choice for angels. Ive heard of it working, but the question is, for how long.

Ive had the most luck with apistos and rams. Geo's would work well too

My Pearsei eats more than my jaguar, festae, and GT. He is a beast and no one messes with him. I want to move him from my 180 into my 220.

You are in the states. Peathenster has Geo orange head Tapajos juveniles for sale. Get a group of six and raise them out in your tank. Even with the shipping cost they will be a great price. Because they only get to about 6", they should do well in your tank. They will also be peaceful toward the angels.

I would avoid severums because breeding pairs get very territorial. They would probably wreak havoc on your angels if that were the case.

Pomatomus, Bolivian rams don't grow that large. Either you overestimated, or the 5" fish you saw was a Biotodoma species that sometimes look like large Bolivian rams. ;) I have seen them mislabeled at stores before.

You think i'd be able to keep 6 in a gallon?

In a 90 gallon? Sure. You can start out with a group of six and thin them out as they grow if you think it's getting too crowded. A 6' tank would be better, but this will work for now. The angels will mostly occupy the space in the top and mid sections of the tank, and the Geos will always be in the bottom half near the sand. They sift all day. Red heads are one of the smaller geos, compared to something like altifrons, so you should be good.

Once they hit spawning age, you could just keep a pair and sell the rest.

Are kribensis too small for your taste? I usually see ones at 3" or less, but wikipedia says they get to almost 5. They would work with angels and tetras.
