Is that first pic showing for you krichardson? It's showing a red X for me but when I go back to edit it the pic shows up. Weird.

I have most of a degree in greenhouse operations and have done a bit of bonsai work myself. Have any of you done any grafting to get two different tree types growing from the same bonsai? A large focus of my work was in grafting and curious to see the results

I have done grafting on the same species, it's really common with things like Maples, but far as two "different" species grafted together, nope. I would be interested in hearing your findings on that myself though.
