LED lighting & new 100 x 30 x 30inch tank

Feel free to ask me specifics.

Firstly I thought about what I would like hanging over my tank and went from there.

I have 4mtrs of 9000K ribbon coming from QEGlobal that I will use a dimmer on to tune the colour temp to get it just perfect:-)
I also have a top surround coming so I will get rid of the lids and have a 'hood' style setup.

I will be updating this thread once the hardware arrives.

I'm doing my 6ftx2ftx2.5ft at the moment so will kick of another thread for that one.
Going a very different route than power leds, using 5050 ribbons instead.
So easy to installcompared to power leds!!

Thanks Gveng! you are spot on, everything is expensive here as we are a small market compared to say....USA :)

I have seen a aussie website that has HEAPS of leds and accessories, what a range!

what do you pay pr kwh there? Right now I pay .07cents a kwh. Is this true?

0.07 US Dollar = 0.07227 Australian Dollar ?
 
I did a lot of things and the things I saw in place, I better make new things.first off I ordered a 100 x 30 x 30 and black satin stand.Then me a crap load of Research in LED lighting and began building my MCE own.chaps electronic cry Cutter and LED drivers also won through them.
 
Hi everyone,

Here is a quick update pic from tonight with my new 9000k 5050ribbon night lighting system running:

It is not that bright, just comes up like that in the camera.

I have ordered some acrylic mirror material the bounce all the spilt lighting back down into the tank.

Will update when that is installed.
