Lemon tiger Oscar

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I’ve been in the same situation too. In my case, the fish figured out the stocking before I even had a chance.
Yup I had 2 oscars in with my pacu when they were in the 70gal. When they decided it was too small the pacu and Oscar chased the other one down and destroyed it. I moved the other Oscar to a friends place but it was too late and it ended up dying anyway. This was only 1-2 months into it

I hate to be this guy but if you don’t have enough money to get a bigger tank, you definitely will not have enough money to feed these beasts. They eat more than I do. And I’m a beast lol.

you would be better off to sell them if you can, and use that money to get either something that would be more appropriate sized for now until you are able to get a bigger tank.

just a thought or two. I’m not hating on you in any way. Most of us have been there.

Here would be my suggestion:

Sell or give away every other fish and tank you have, but keep the flowerhorn in that 40g by himself until you get the 75 (hopefully within a year). Then put the flowerhorn in the 75 for life and find something suitable for the 40 long-term (Maybe a convict pair or something). Then IF you do get another large tank or build a pond, you can begin housing some of the monsters you are fond of...but don't buy the monsters until the huge tank or pond is fully cycled and ready to go. Sometimes it's a process before we get what we want. Just my opinion

This right here is wisdom.

an alternative to pacu is silver dollar. I have many silver dollars because I also love pacus. (Silver dollars are called pacus in SA). I don’t currently have a tank big enough to house any pacu right now and I have 300g + tanks in the go.

I’m fine with selling my fish but bullseye my rtc/tsn I mentally cannot do that I love that fish way too much

Then check your local Craigslist or kijiji for something like this. I picked up mine for $100 it’s roughly 8x3 footprint and it could house your rtc/tsn for a few years.
