I dont know what striation is but. Both fishes bellys look identical in the tank. The fatter pikes belly turns a redish/pink color at times and has less spotting on its head. They are both over 11" now and look the same as in the pics. I will tell you what, i am really happy i ended up with these.
I thought similar-sized pikes were supposed to be aggressive toward one another, yet you have 4 in the same tank? (I'm still drooling over a 900g tank BTW!). Is it simply because the tank is so big?
... and I gotta ask, can you post a pic of the 7" african frog?? How does he survive in that tank?
I have 5 in one tank right now. 2 stigata 2 lenticulata a 1 marmorata. There is some aggression in the tank. But no so much that i need to move any pikes out (as of now).
I looked through my pics and i cant find any of the frog. i will try to get some soon. He does OK. The lents nip at him every once in a while. But he just avoids them and he does OK.
I put the lenticulatas and 1 strigata in first since they were the smallest in size. About a month later i put both the marm and bigger stigata in together. Its ben Ok so far. But like i said there is some aggression in the tank. The Marm seems to be the most dominet. There is alot of other fish in there to draw some attention away from each other. I actually have all my fish in the 900 gallon right now. I need to update my signature. the 300 gallon is empty right now.
