Lenticulatas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I keep getting pulled back here to look at your Lents, SPECTACULAR. Nice to see some of what people would call real Lents. I was wonder what exactly they mean by striations also. I have heard people refer to them before. I believe it is a way to differentiate male/female.

Male is in front. Note the striations on his belly. They are absent on the female's belly. I've heard it described as muscle striations as well.

Thanks Scat, I figured those were what you were referring to. But did not know what exactly the marks represented. Is this true for all Lug pikes. Striations represent male.

WOW!!! That tank is insane!!! 5 Friggin pikes in the same pool!! Thats too cool! Also, if that frog is an african clawed frog than no fish will mess with it. They are an invasive species here in SOCAL and nothing will eat them, not even Largemouth bass.

Yes it is a african clawed frog. I have had a couple of them and the fish never messed with any of them.

I will have to look for the striations. I can clearly see what you are talking about. Dont think either fish has them. I will definetly look closer.

hey Mojo, I remember you posted pics of the whole tank a while back, you got any updates shots of that beast

Here is what it looks like today. I would like to add some more plants as soon as the budget allows. LOL

Putting all your pikes together is nerve racking. There is tension in the tank but so far it is not so bad. Knowing how pikes can be alittle unpredictable and being i am trying it with three nice pikes makes me nervous. But so far it has ben worth it. I hope it lasts.
