leo pups premature

Not only for you but for the entire ray community too...captive bred rays are so important.
 
Sorry to hear about the pups not making it. I don't have alot of experience with pregnant rays but I feed mine two times a day and they almost eat double what they normally eat. Makes me wonder if I should feed 3 times a day with smaller feedings?
 
I agree with freddy! I've done that 2 smaller portions a day feeding with my rays the last two times and they were fine. Hope the little fella is still ok freddy. I believe the same thing that its to much for rays sometimes towards the end of the pregancy. She even quit eatting for a couple days in the last 2 weeks she was holding.

That does suck! Brent, I lost one of the two my Leo had the last litter. The one left still not eating very good. I think the litter was premature, the pups were tiny. the Marble pups are twice the size.
 
Sorry for loss Brent, I feed all my rays once day and never had any premature births or dead rays born so hard to say what is causing you problems I dont think it's your feeding.
 
my motoros 1st litter, i fed her a ton of food and everything went great. 2nd litter,she didnt have much of an appetite during her whole pregnancy (premature litter). she is due w her 3rd litter in about 2 weeks and she is eating TONS!!! not sure what the prob was...
