Why is every1 sorry? This dude is trying to keep saltwater fish in full fresh! Is it just me or what? This has to be one of the dumbest ideas I have heard. Why don't you buy a new tank and make it salt or brackish or whatever the fish needs not what you want the fish to have.

Would you buy a dog wearing a nitrous tank on its back if you were told it was converted to N0S instead of breathing O2?

I'm sorry if I come off sounding like an "A"hole but I think what some of you guy's are trying to do with fish is rediculous. If you want a snapper or an mj or any other NON-FW fish, why not provide a natural habitat for it instead of killing it with what you "think" it needs?

I am so sorry but yes, :) you are sounding like an a..hole. :) That guy has been keeping fish for a long time in very good conditions and knows what he is doing.. what he was doing must have been well thought of and failed and he posted his failure...

You are right objectively, and people should not put brackish in FW, and that should start at the LFS's who misinform people..

Subjectively, you come on a little too strong and misinformed of the actual circumstances, I believe...

Do you know anything about Mangrove Jack and how they are commonly kept in the hobby?

That is my point.

I was told it was kept in full FW.

But I believe they were BS with me.

I only went by what I was told.

sw kept in freshwater are more unstable and more prone to problems regardless of the history of what kind of water they lived in.

the stresses of moving combined with living in less than an ideal salinity could have affected its osmoregulation and started a chain reaction, the fish unable to retain the correct level of salt and water in thhe body led to stress, stress led to no eating, disease, infection,etc and the ultimate demise of the fish.

i dont think thhey where bsing with you, but where ignorant to what ideal salinity the fish really needed.
