Finally got my filter and stuff from Big Al's. Boy was that a ride.
It was not Big Al's fault. It was the shipping......of course.
The Eheim 2262 is a MONSTER!!!!! This is my first canister filter, so it took me a while to get it together right. But Eheim made it easy.
Nice, simple instructions and all the parts fit like a glove.
The only mod I did was to turn the pump on it's side so that the tubing was going out of the back of the tank rather than straight up.
This will make it easier to haul out from under the stand when it needs to be cleaned.
I posted earlier in this thread that I was trying to decide on a powerhead to help move the water around in the tank a bit.
No need for that anymore. The 2262 has so much "water flow" that I had to remove the new taller plants I bought. The flow was just folding them over into the sand. So I think I have enough water movement now.
I dont know the best place for the intake on the 2262. So I placed it at one of the tank and the spraybar at the other. I hope this is a good placement for a 8 foot tank. If not, I can move it.
The last thing I have to do is to decide on my background. I bought a rocky background and a solid black background.
The rocky is on now. Here is a few pics of the 2262 and stuff and the rocky background on the tank.
Tell me what you think about the background and if it looks O.K.
Or you think I should go with black.
Thanks again for all the comments.
My fish, patiently waiting in the 75 gallon, are wishing I would finish this soon too.
