Install an attic fan. Cuts AC use in half. Close the house up in the morning, with attic fan off and don't need to turn on ac if under 90. Just run some fans.

Get sober. ;) I save about $800 a month not doing the things that I used to do 6 years ago.

Is that that shiny metal thing that sits on the roof and constantly rotates? I think I'm going to look into one as my third floor gets like a greenhouse in the summer.

My sister lived in a house that had a huge fan in the ceiling, that thing was awesome! In a matter of seconds, that thing would suck all the hot air, and "odors" out of the house. I think thats what roger is talking about. I think..

Most of all that cheap stuff you buy with coupons is processed junk. So you get a bunch of junk food for cheap/free but at the cost of your health. Like 80% of my food is fresh produce, the rest is seafood/turkey/chicken etc. Occasionally I will buy somet packaged stuff but always good packaged stuff not something with 2 inch ingredient panel. IMO your health should not be sacrificed, so you shouldn't be cheap on the food you buy. So when you say they are paying you to buy groceries in reality they are paying you to kill yourself.

Scary point.

Agreed, but spending all my time sifting thru groceries, articles, labels and then spending all of my money buying "the good stuff" feels too much like a slow death IMO, I do try to watch what I eat though.
